Ear Wax Removal

Taking care of your hearing is vital! We all want to live life to the fullest and that is why good ear & hearing health is important to people of all ages. There are many factors that can affect our ear health including age, the misuse of ear buds, constant exposure to very loud noises and of course the build up of wax. If our ear health is compromised then our ability to hear deteriorates, this often causes people to be socially withdrawn. If you are concerned about your hearing health or you are looking for ear wax removal in Peterborough then please contact us, we can help.

Here at Mi Pharmacy we want to help our customers with conditions such as this and that is why we are providing easy and accessible Ear Wax Removal Service in Peterborough and its surrounding areas.

What is an Ear Wax Removal Service?

Our earwax removal service allows you to access treatments that may no longer be offered by your GP. We are currently using a process called ear microsuction. Microsuction is the process of removing wax from your ears by using a small suction tube and probe to gently remove any excess wax in the ear.

This treatment is usually painless and should improve your symptoms very quickly. Whilst some GPs may still offer these services; many don’t. So, paying for private treatment may be an option for you.

In the United Kingdom it is estimated that around 3.9% of the population require management of ear wax each year with many people having to wait 12 to 16 weeks to get treatment.

Symptoms of Ear Wax Build Up

  • Symptoms of earwax build-up include:

  1. hearing loss
  2. earache or a feeling that your ears are blocked
  3. ringing or buzzing in your ears (tinnitus)
  4. vertigo (feeling dizzy and sick)

A build-up of earwax can happen if: you have narrow or damaged ear canals, you have lots of hair in your ear canals, you have a skin condition affecting your scalp or around your ear, you have inflammation of your ear canal (otitis externa or “swimmer’s ear”)
